Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Remoter app for Android, published by Andrei Tanas (“the developer”). By installing or using the app you agree to them.
License
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Remoter on Android devices that you own or control, subject to these terms and the Google Play terms of service. Remoter incorporates open-source components, including FreeRDP, which are licensed under their own terms (Apache License 2.0).
Acceptable use
Remoter connects to computers over the RDP and VNC protocols. You may only use it to access computers that you own or that you are authorized to access. You are responsible for complying with all laws and policies that apply to the systems you connect to.
Premium
Some features are offered as an optional Premium upgrade, purchased through Google Play in one of two ways, either of which unlocks the same features:
- One-time purchase — paid once; it does not renew or expire.
- Monthly subscription — renews each month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in the Play Store’s subscription settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Billing is handled entirely by Google Play, and purchases belong to the Google account that made them. Refunds are subject to Google Play’s refund policy.
Remoter Anywhere
Remoter Anywhere is an optional subscription that connects your phone to your computers through a relay operated by the developer, so the computers need no open ports. It includes all of Remoter Premium.
- Billing — the subscription is sold through Google Play and renews each month until you cancel it in the Play Store’s subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Any free trial is described when you subscribe. When the subscription ends, Remoter can no longer connect through the relay; connections made directly to a computer are not affected.
- Limits — a subscription covers up to 10 computers in any 30 days and 2 sessions at a time. A computer counts from its first session and frees its place 30 days after its last one. A session beyond these limits is refused, except that reconnecting to a computer that already has a session replaces the older one.
Fair use
Remoter Anywhere is meant for one person reaching their own computers interactively: to work on them, check on them, or fix something. It is not meant for:
- keeping sessions open around the clock or unattended;
- streaming video or games continuously through the relay;
- giving other people access to computers through your subscription, or reselling it.
Every session passes through the relay, and the relay costs the developer money for each one. If your use is far beyond what is typical, the developer may end sessions, close sessions that have had no input for a long time, or limit how fast data passes through the relay. If it continues, the developer may end your subscription and refund the unused part of the current billing period. Usage is judged only from what the relay already records: when sessions start and end and how much data they carry (see the privacy policy). Sessions are encrypted end to end, so their contents cannot be seen.
The relay may be unavailable at times, for maintenance or because of outages at the developer or at Cloudflare.
No warranty
Remoter is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. The developer does not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will be compatible with any particular remote host configuration.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app — including loss of data on remote systems you connect to.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the current version will always be published at this address with its effective date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
